How to provide a Wireshark capture

In case of issues on networked audio devices, a wireshark capture might be required.

1. Download from https://www.wireshark.org/download.html

2. Install Wireshark.
   On Windows :
   Use the default installation options.
   On MacOS :
   Open the dmg disk image and drag Wireshark to your /Applications folder.
   The first time you start Wireshark, you will be warned that you cannot capture on local interfaces.
   Simply click on Installing ChmodBPF and follow the instructions.
   

3. Reboot your computer and start your RAVENNA/AES67 Applications

4. Start Wireshark

5. Identify your RAVENNA/AES67 network interface (same name in the application and the OS).
   Tip: Hovering the mouse over a network interface will display its IP address.

6. Double click on the interface or click on the Capture button.
   

7. Let the capture run around 90 seconds.
   Important note : if your issue is intermittent, make sure your capture is made while your issue is happening.

8. Click on the Stop Capture button 
   

9. Go in the File > Save menu
   Please click on the "Compress with gzip" option to reduce the size of the file.
   

10. Please send the .gz file

Tip (Windows) : 
If you don't see your network interface in Wireshark's list, go in Windows Network and Sharing center and right click on the required interface to access its Properties.
Make sure the Npcap Packet Driver (NPCAP) is ticked and click on OK to confirm the change.
Please restart the Wireshark application, your interface should be available now.
