How to manually update the firmware of your Audio Inteface

Prerequisites

• Compatible network audio interfaces:
  Hapi MKII
  Hapi MKIII
  Anubis
  MT 48

• An internet connection to download the device firmware from Neumann Download Center

• Mac or Windows system connected to the ethernet interface of the device, or to the USB interface of the device (MT 48 only)

• Either MT Discovery, ANEMAN, Merging Audio Device driver (Win) or Virtual Audio Device driver (Mac) or Neumann MT48 Toolkit (MT 48 connected through USB only)

• The Google Chrome browser is recommended for Windows and Mac users.

Notes on update to Dante firmware

• Some devices are not compatible with Dante:
  Hapi MKII 
  Anubis with serials below 10000.
  For more details please consult the Dante Quick Start Guide

• Merging Anubis / Hapi MKIII and Neumann MT 48 are delivered ex-factory with the RAVENNA/AES67 firmware running.

• Merging Anubis / Hapi MKIII and Neumann MT 48 are delivered without a Dante license; a license plan must be purchased separately.

Accessing the Maintenance page

With MT Discovery

• Windows or MacOs
• AES67/RAVENNA or DANTE
• If your device is currently running in AES67/RAVENNA. browse to the RAVENNA Devices section
  If your device is currently running in DANTE. browse to the DANTE Zman Devices section
• Click on the Open Maintenance Page button next to the device you want to update.
  

With ANEMAN

• Windows or MacOs
• AES67/RAVENNA
• In the Devices section on the left, right click on your device and select Open Maintenance Page
  
• If the Devices section is not displayed, click on the Devices button to expand it.
   

With Merging Audio Device (Windows)

• Windows 
• AES67/RAVENNA
• In the Merging Audio Device panel, Network Discovery section, right click on your device and select Open Maintenance Page
  
• If your device is not displayed, make sure you have set the Network Adapter it is attached to as Primary.
  

With Virtual Audio Device (Mac)

• MacOS
• AES67/RAVENNA
• In the Virtual Audio Device Preferences panel, right click on your device and select Open Maintenance Page
  
• If your device is not displayed, make sure you have set the Network Adapters it is attached to.
  Please disable the Auto option to manually select the Network Adapter.
  

With MT 48 Toolkit (MT 48 connected through USB only)

• Windows or MacOs
• AES67/RAVENNA or DANTE
• Windows: Right click on the MT48 Toolkit icon in the Taskbar and select Open Maintenance Page
  
• MacOs:  Click on the MT48 Toolkit icon in the Menu Bar and select Open Maintenance Page
  

Manual Update Procedure

• Open the device Maintenance page with one of the method described above
• Access the Neumann Download Center and download the required firmware, according to your device model and AoiP mode required (AES67/RAVENNA or DANTE)
• Click on the Select File button, and browse to the downloaded firmware location.
  
  For ease of use, only the firmware files compatible with your device model will be displayed 
  (e.g. Firmware_1.9.0_62872.Anubis or Firmware_1.9.0_62872.Dante.Anubis are only compatible with Anubis)

• Once the firmware is selected press the Update button.
  

• The firmware is first uploaded from the computer into the device, then it will update its firmware.
  DO NOT SHUT DOWN ANUBIS OR COMPUTER DURING THE UPDATE PROCEDURE.
  Wait for the upload and update to complete. 
  Note that your device will also display a progress bar.
  

• Once the Firmware update is completed, please reboot your device. 
  From either the web browser or the device, by pressing Reboot Device.
