Prerequisites
Lawo HOME supported version: 1.8 and above
-
A Lawo HOME certified network interface or driver:
Neumann MT 48 (version 2.0 and above)
Hapi MkII - MkIII
Merging Anubis
Merging MAD (version 2.2.7 and above)
MassCore Pyramix / Ovation
Horus - Hapi (Legacy)
MT Discovery
Update the firmware to our latest version available from
https://www.neumann.com/en-us/serviceundsupport/file-finder
Setup
Open MTDiscovery and locate your compatible device, right click on it, then select Open advanced pages.
-
In the HOME tab, enter the IP:PORT of your Lawo HOME server (or server cluster), and click on Enable.
In case you want to specify a HOME cluster it will be enough separating each <ip>:<port> combination with “;” (e.g.: 169.254.200.100:4222;169.254.1.222:4223).
Please be aware that your device will not be connected to all the HOME servers at the same time, but will use the server entry as list, and in case a server connection fails, it will try with the next one, cycling on such list. Once Registered shows everything ok you’ll find your device in HOME Device tab
To disconnect your device from Lawo HOME, you can uncheck the Enable checkbox.
How to setup a source in HOME
To create one or more sources, click on your device, go to Senders tab, then click on New Sender, select the number of sources (Senders) your want to create, the number of channel per source and the source label.
Once created, it’s possible to route physical inputs to the stream channels by clicking on I/O Routing, select the physical inputs and click on Connect.
To setup more parameters of the source. please refer to the device advanced pages (sources tab)
How to setup a sink in HOME
To create one or more sinks, click on your device, go to Receivers tab, then click on New Receiver, select the number of sinks (Receivers) your want to create, the number of channel per sink and the sink label.
Before proceeding to sink routing, a stream has to be connected to the newly created sink. Go to Stream routing and connect the desired stream:
Once done, it’s possible to route the stream channels to physical outputs by clicking on I/O Routing, select the channels, and click on Connect.
To setup more parameters of the sink. please refer to the device advanced pages (sinks tab)
How to setup an internal routing in HOME
In the device tab of HOME there is an I/O Routing next to Receivers that allows to route inputs with outputs, not limited to IP->Physical or Physical->IP but also Physical->Physical (except for legacy Horus - Hapi MKI)
Known limitations
The flexibility of HOME UI may imply that certain operations are achievable in Merging / Neumann devices. However, because HOME has a general-purpose design, certain actions are restricted due to the features or constraints of our devices.
Once a sender/receiver is created, it’s not possible to resize its channel count, nor specifying the frame size in samples (managed via global settings in advanced pages)
It’s not possible to patch virtual inputs with virtual outputs.
Windows is not responding in time to IGMP queries so the switch may remove Masscore from the Multicast Group. Due to Windows reaction time, you might have to extend your switch IGMP timings.
Legacy - In Horus/Hapi MKI, when setting up a source, it’s not possible to disconnect the input card (every source must always have an input)
Legacy - In Horus/Hapi MKI, when setting up a source/sink, all the physical channels must belong to the same I/O card and be contiguous
Legacy - In Horus/Hapi MKI internal routing is not supported in HOME, please make reference to Merging’s UI (Setup → Routing)
